James Clark - Co-opted Governor

James Clark is a serving headteacher and has been teaching for 17 years. Of these, 14 years have been in leadership positions in schools in inner city London and Stockport. He is currently headteacher of a primary school and acting headteacher of a 140 place Nursery school. James is now a serving governor in 4 schools, including Gatley.

James has always worked in schools in areas of high deprivation with large numbers of children eligible for free school meals and where there is high mobility, both in and out of social housing. These schools were often populated by large numbers of children from different countries who spoke many languages. This contrast to Gatley Primary School will hopefully bring a different, but nonetheless complimentary set of skills to the governing body.

James is looking forward to both supporting and challenging in his role as co-opted governor. He believes that working together as governors we can continue to secure the best outcomes for the children in our school; academically, emotionally and socially.
