Rebecca Keeping - Parent Governor
Rebecca Keeping is a newly appointed Governor at Gatley Primary School. Rebecca is a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working closely with education professionals and parents. Within her role, she provides direct treatment to children, and also provides staff with advice and strategies to support inclusion and participation in the classroom. She has extensive experience in training parents and professionals in aspects of communication development, particularly within the early years.
Involvement in music, dance, drama and sport have been key parts of Rebecca's life, ever since early childhood. It is therefore important to her that children are given opportunities to develop a wide range of skills and interests.
Rebecca has a son who attends Gatley Primary, and a daughter who will hopefully attend the nursery next year. She has been impressed by the progress her son has made since starting in Reception, both with his early academic skills, and also his social and emotional development. She hopes to provide a 'parental perspective' within her role as a Governor and is excited to become part of such a strong team.
