Gatley Teaching School has established links with Stockport Local Authority, both in the delivery of continuing professional development for local schools and provision for school improvement initiatives. Previously our on-going working partnership had been established through our National Support School accreditation.
As a strategic partner Stockport LA supports the Teaching School in the identification of local need and providing feedback on school improvement priorities across the borough.
In response the Teaching School has worked with the School Improvement Team to design and deliver leadership programmes to strengthen leadership and management. These have included the leadership programmes for support staff, middle leaders and aspiring senior leaders.
More recently, in partnership with Stockport Local Authority the Teaching School has launched a Research and Development initiative to prioritise “Closing the Gap” for different groups of children across Stockport linked to subject leadership.
Our National Leader of Education (NLE) works closely with Stockport School Improvement Team to support and challenge a range of schools including schools in OFSTED categories, as part of school-to school support. Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE’s) also enable the delivery of a bespoke support plan, focussing on raising the quality of teaching and learning to impact on learner outcomes. School Improvement regularly liaise and attend reviews with the Teaching School and all the schools receiving support.
