Welcome to Gatley Primary School
At Gatley Primary School, children develop a positive attitude towards lifelong learning in a unique classroom environment that is designed to develop independent and self-motivated learners. This particular approach allows children to be creative and develop a range of skills to ensure they are prepared for the next stage of their lives. In addition to this, we ensure that all pupils are challenged and achieve the very best they can academically. Our results have placed us in the top 100 schools in the country this year, with the Sunday Times Parent Power league table ranking us as the 28th best school in the country. The Manchester Evening News also published the following 'Real Schools Guide 2018' for Gatley Primary School:
Our school has a highly committed staff team who continually seek to improve their teaching approaches and consult with the children about curriculum design. We adopt a ‘learner led’ approach and the themes and topics our children choose are relevant to today’s society and about something that motivates them. Take a look at our curriculum maps to see the exciting themes they chose this year.
We see ourselves very much as a community school, where education is a partnership between staff, parents and children. Gatley Primary School actively promotes collaborative learning both within and beyond the school, including our work as a National Teaching School.
